Ability to ride a bicycle (required to ensure basic balance and coordination).
Completion of the MSF eCourse prior to attending the in-person riding sessions.

What This Course Is About:
The Basic Rider Course is a beginner-level motorcycle training program, developed using the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) curriculum, designed for new riders and recommended for those returning to motorcycling. Offered through the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, the course teaches essential motorcycle control skills and helps riders work toward their Minnesota motorcycle license endorsement. Training begins with the required MSF online eCourse, which covers protective riding gear, preparation, risk management, street strategies, special riding situations, and impairment awareness before participants move on to hands-on riding instruction.

Licensing Requirements:
Riders under age 18 must take the course to obtain a motorcycle permit.
Riders 18 and older planning to get a motorcycle endorsement must have a motorcycle instruction permit in hand prior to attending.
