M4/AR15 Instructor Course

This course serves to ‘certify’ each student as a Rifle Instructor with their issued rifle or issued division rifle and is designed to satisfy MN Statute and POST Board requirements mandating that full-time peace officers receive initial and continued (annual) training in the use of force, the use of deadly force, and the use of firearms (626.8452).

What This Course Is About:

The M4/AR15 Instructor Course is a 16-hour, POST-approved training designed to certify qualified participants as rifle instructors with their issued rifle or issued division rifle. This course meets Minnesota Statute 626.8452 and MN POST Board requirements for initial and annual training in the use of force, deadly force, and firearms.

This course is taught by certified college use-of-force and firearms instructors and aligns with the MN POST Board’s In-Service Use of Force Learning Objectives for peace officers and part-time peace officers. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on, practical training to ensure participants can safely, confidently, and effectively instruct others in patrol rifle operations.

What You’ll Learn:

After this lesson, each officer will be able to demonstrate initial loading procedures, emergency reloads, tactical reloads, magazine exchanges, immediate action procedures and achieve a minimum qualification score of 90%.
